Todays Topic: Is Demonic Pact worth it?
Demonic Pact is a 5 point talent deep in the Demonology tree that will increase your party/raids spellpower by 10% of your spellpower for 10 seconds each time your pet crits.
Sounds good, no?
The buzzkill – Demonic Pact does not stack with Totem of Wrath.
The max rank Totem of Wrath provides the raid with 280 spellpower so in order for anyone in your raid to benefit from Demonic Pact, you’ll need to pack over a whopping 2800 spellpower. If you aren’t decked out in full 25-man Ulduar gear and using nothing but spellpower gems/enchants.. good luck meeting that requirement.
If your raid uses a Shaman but they’re not Elemental, you’re in good shape! Flametongue Totem at max rank only provides 144 spellpower. If you don’t have 1450 spellpower at 80 as a raiding Warlock, it might be time to let go of the 70 epics. I know it’s hard throwing away your Belt of Blasting and your Sunwell badge loot.. and you were probably the same Warlock who showed up for Kara in your Nemesis Raiment.. but it’s time to move on.
Anyway, I digress.
The Million Dollar Question is.. Does your raid use an Elemental Shaman?
If you answered “Yes!”, Demonic Pact is a waste of 5 talent points. If you answered “No =(“, I’d recommend taking it. Now go vend that Mindblade, demon boy!
