Last night was a busy night of heroic farming and even picked up a PVP achievement along the way to Heroic VoA today. This could be a bit lengthy, so I apologize in advance.
That Takes Class
I had everything but a Death Knight and ran in to one in Wintergrasp. Tag em’ and bag em’.
Heroic: Violet Hold
It was the daily yesterday so I convinced Blog of Light and some guildies to come along. Picked up Mark of the War Prisoner (hit trinket) and the +hit/spellpower robes. Still have yet to see the epic bracers drop on any toon.
Dehydration
Easy achievement if you aren’t going for Defenseless. The hard part is just getting Ichoron as a boss since VH is totally random. If you do get Ichoron, its as simple as pulling the defense mechanisms around the room to zap the water elementals every time Icho splits.
Heroic: Ahn’kahet
I went with 4 people from our Naxx-10 team so the last boss was nothing short of a total pain in my demon formed ass. Attack anyone but the Pally, Pally heals them. Attack the Pally and 4 people beat on you while the Pally spams Flash of Light. I gave up and died and let the others finish the run. Apparently I was a pain in the ass for our Mage, which I found humorous.
Heroic: Utgarde Pinnacle
I don’t see what all of the fuss was about. This is one of the easiest heroics I’ve done.
King’s Bane
Don’t attack when he buffs with Bane. That simple.
Heroic: Halls of Lightning
The only boss that gave us trouble was Loken but that was to be expected. We got him on the 3rd shot and even snagged Timely Death.
Shatter Resistant
Tank and spank Volkhan instead of doing it the right way. This way is actually easier, IMO, so the achievement should come natural.
Lightning Struck
I didn’t even notice that I picked this one up in HoL. General Bjarngrim gets a temporary charge on him and he needs to die while its there. Woops?
Timely Death
I’ve heard of a lot of groups with an AoE healer just stay in for the explosion and zerg him but we did it the right way.. and still killed him in time. No need to make your healers life miserable, IMO.
Heroic: Halls of Stone
I never even did this on normal, but overall it was quite easy. The escort event was the only PITA but the 2nd attempt was a cakewalk.
Brann Spankin’ New
Tank every add at the doorway and don’t let any get by. Easy enough.

Toon Updates.
Out of all of those heroics last night, I picked up 22 badges and 2 blues.. but that was it. I expected to get maybe 1 epic.. just 1. But, alas, the loot mojo gods were not on my side. They weren’t today either when I rolled a sweet 20 on my 7.5 gloves in heroic OS. I did heroic VoA afterwards with a total of 5 locks. I didn’t know 5 other people had 80 locks on my server! Of course, as luck would have it, not a single lock piece dropped from Archavon. The Reigns of the Grand Black War Mammoth did drop though, which the same person that won the 7.5 gloves in the earlier OS run got. Lucky bastard!
Blog of Light is running Naxx-25 tonight with some other guild and I’m going to see if I can tag along.
DPS for both raids-
Heroic OS – 2nd overall by the time we got to Sartharion. Ended at 3rd. Sartharion is NOT a good fight for Demo Locks since it requires lots of pet management to get them out of Flame Walls. Poor Haathun died twice T_T. I did break my Shadowbolt crit record with a 10,320 shot.
Heroic VoA – 2nd overall, behind a well geared Affliction lock. Damn their sick-as-hell Drain Soul execute below 25%! I bested an epicced Destruction warlock and 2 other Affliction locks though, so I felt good about that. Meta/Ruin represent! *gang sign*

I’m jealous of Dehydration since i just saw this boss twice, both with randoms and yeah, both times nobody wanted to do it >.>.
I personally love doing UP. But on my server the most people really don’t like it. Must be the same love between then as for me and the Occulus, haha
Oh and grats to the items, too bad you got such a bad roll for the gloves.
Heroic: Ahn’kahet:
Generally, since I’m healing, I just kite people around and try and get as many of them dead as possible whilst staying alive; but in a recent rather mismatched run (three “healers”!) I had an important insight — it’s PvP against stupid opponants. So fear or root the healers, kite the DPS away from rooted healers then burst them down.
The Felpuppy might be the right demon to have out for this encounter I guess (not done it even on normal with my ‘lock).
Yeah I was thinking that I should have used my Felhound instead after the fact. I made the mistake of dropping a Howl of Terror fear bomb at the start which wasn’t a good idea. Death gripped, concussion shot, counterspelled.. it wasn’t a good time lol. The healer had zero problems, as did our DK tank but the 3 DPS struggled all blaming “that damn holy paladin”.
@ Sibyll – Its Ok, I’ll get them eventually lol. The Oculus is the only heroic I don’t care for. Well, maybe HoL. But both are easy and just have annoying end bosses, IMO.
[...] About a week or so ago I decided that since I had done Malygos maybe I should go ahead and do some heroics to get my Frozen Wastes title. We did UP, HoL, HoS and Ahnkahet getting a lot of Achievements while we were in there. These instances were not bad at all now that I have some nice gear, I’m glad I decided to do them. Ahnkahet was pretty interesting as well because no one could kill my clone! Muaahaha! Wrath of the Holy Pally ftw. I was pretty leet myself having no trouble taking out everyones clones, helping our DK tank with his adds and keeping him and myself alive to be the only two standing to defeat the boss. Ah… to be overpowered. After getting my title I needed one more achievement to break 4k points so I helped the guys out in VH, lucky for me I got my last achievement for that instance as well as hitting my mark.
