I took some time today before work to catch up on my favorite Blogger-using WoW bloggers. Apparently my un-educational blog posts and all around sex appeal earned me a meme’d “Shiny Soul” award from Fulguralis @ Killing ‘em Slowly.
Rules
- When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real.
- Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon.
- List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!
I’m VERY late in this meme and I know a majority (if not all) of them have already been picked but I’d still like to recognize them for having stellar blogs.
And my nominees are (in no particular order)..
- Fulguralis & Fuubar @ Killing em Slowly – Fulg was one of my first comments and I’ve continued reading their blog to this day. Even when I swapped mains to my Shadow Priest, I can still count on their blog to keep me not only informed but entertained and motivated. KeS isn’t just a Warlock blog or a DK blog or a Paladin blog. They go the distance to bring a real life element to their posts and really make their readers feel welcome.
- Syrana @ Sideshow & Syrana – One of the newer blogs on the scene is exploding with tons of posts that also bring in a real-life element to an internet-life society. I was originally drawn to this blog for its Warlock content but it provided a lot more.
- Laeyla @ Blog of Light – I’m not playing a bias game because we’re married. I actually enjoy reading her blog. She has a ton of great informative Holy Pally posts and is a stellar raider. It’s only a matter of time before her blog gets the recognition it deserves and explodes on the Holy Pally scene. She doesn’t update a ton anymore but I’m sure that’ll change.
- Merlot @ Misery – Misery was the first Shadow Priest blog that I stumbled across while I was leveling my Alliance Shadow Priest. A very well written blog from a fellow Horde Shadow Priest.
- Euripedes @ Critical QQ – Stumbled on this blog while leveling my Alliance Mage. I can always count on coming in to work with a new blog post that is not only informative but quite comedic.
- Tuna @ Spicytuna – Also stumbled on this blog while leveling my Alliance Mage. I was looking for Frost Mage info and I found it in spades.
- “D” @ LFM: Need Healer Plz – Did a search for Shadow Priest blog and came across this one. Turned out she played on my old server of Silvermoon so we commented back and forth about the winners that play there. She also gave some great gear advice for Naxx since she completed it before I did.
- Graylo @ Gray Matter – Found in a search for Moonkin blogs while I was leveling my Alliance Moonkin. Still my “go to” source for all things Moonkin and hands down one of the best blogs around.
- Macbook @ Moonkin.info – Same as Gray Matter. Great informative Moonkin blog.
- K @ More Dots! More Dots! – Great blog about alt-itis, which I also suffer from. Still have problems commenting to it from work T_T.
Honestly honest..
- I was born in Baltimore, MD.. grew up in Glen Burnie, MD.. graduated high school in Pasadena, MD.. then moved to Indianapolis, IN.
- My favorite band ever is Gwar. I’ve seen them live countless times and always leave quite messy.
- I have 2 tattoos and both of them are Zelda related. Yes I’m a nerd. One is a triforce being drained by a Metroid or my inner-left forearm (an homage to my 2 favorite games growing up) and the other is a large stained glass-looking piece from Wind Waker, located on my entire upper right arm.
- I have 5 facial piercings. The center of my bottom lip. My right nostril. Both earlobes stretched out to 1/2″. My upper-left cartlidge stretched out to 6g. Not exactly your average office robot.
- Growing up, my favorite hobby besides Nintendo was baseball. I grew up playing it and was a huge Baltimore Orioles fan, idolising Cal Ripken Jr. I lost interest in my early teenage years and followed basketball for a little bit. I was a big Boston Celtics fan since Baltimore didn’t have a team and was a Larry Bird fan. Sports were always a guilty pleasure of mine, being a gamer and all. Currently I only follow MMA and hockey.
- Just to emasculate myself, my favorite drink is Diet Pepsi. I don’t care about the calorie factor, I just prefer its taste over normal soft drinks.
- When I go to Denny’s, I order the 12 shrimp dinner or the french toast.
- I live in Indiana but I could care less about college sports. I could get shot for saying that out loud.
- I quote Anchorman more than any other movie, but my favorite movie ever is a tie between The Goonies and Big Trouble in Little China.
- For the most part, I’m quite lazy.. but I love playing Dance Dance Revolution. There. I said it. I’m also pretty good at Guitar Hero even though I come from a drumming background for 8 years and fail at guitar IRL.
There.. done..
Glen Burnie, you say? Top This Pizza ftl! Pepto ftw!
Boy, this post is good, but it is filling.
*tosses out window*
And you could get shot for not liking college sports ’round heeyah. I mean, not liking high school sports is usually just a stabbing, college definitely a gun shot. And the Pacers suck. :-p.
The year I moved here was the year Maryland beat Indiana in the college basketball finals. It was always funny getting carded places and flashing a Maryland drivers license.
And yeah.. not a fan of the Pacers.
@ Iscarriot – the only Top This Pizza around (I think) when I lived there was in Ellicot City so I never ate there.
Hmm, DDR came out of left field and was definitely a surprise on that list! No self-respecting metal head plays DDR with that froofroo techno! *shoves DDR mat in the closet* I mean… seriously.
(That game wears me out and we don’t have the proper space to lay that mat out.)
And thankies for the nomination!
*hums Captain Jack*
I have NO idea what you’re talking about =X
(by far my favorite track to play besides Paranoia/Afro-nova)
Rock Band totally got me into drumming. Never really thought about it before, but I think I’d really enjoy trying it out. Not saying RB and GH make me a good drummer, but at least I have rhythm now, just ask Syrana.
Let me guess… DDR: Extreme 2?
I have that one. >>;; Butterfly is freaking addictive, and so is Captain Jack. I have to admit… that one threw me off as well. I didn’t expect that one xD
@ Sideshow – the downfall of trying out drums is that they’re really expensive lol but a little practice never hurt anyone.
@ Bel – I have the original 2 for PSone. I never liked the others that came out. So just DDR and DDR: Konamix.
[...] would also like to thank Fear.Win for nominating me for the award as well. Sorry I didn’t catch it [...]
