Naxx-10 Cleared!

We seemed unstoppable this weekend with our full 10-man raid team FINALLY doing Naxx-10 all at once. We celebrating by clearing the entire instance with guild firsts on 5 bosses.

Night one we cleared all of the bosses we had already downed before and tonight we started off with a one shot of the Four Horsemen. Very easy fight once you understand the positioning and movement required. The screen cap is on their platform because they all despawn as soon as you kill the final horseman.

After that we headed to our arch-nemesis Heigan the Unclean. He gave us a bunch of grief during our second week in Naxx but we one shotted him with only 2 deaths during phase 2.

Once Heigan was cleaned we made our way through the Super Mario Bros gauntlet and one shotted Laotheb who was a completely new encounter to Vae Victus. It was pretty healing intensive and we made it out with about 5 people dead lol. I picked up the Sulfer Stave (the flapping bat staff) for the +hit but more on that later =\.

That left us with all 4 wings cleared and only 2 options left. We headed up for Sapphiron and this fight gave us the most trouble altogether. The constant raid-wide damage, unforgiving blizzard positions and pure luck that no one would get near anyone during the ice block phase caused us to wipe about 5 times but on our 6th try we got him. To keep the key to Malygos in the guild, we elected to give it to me as the guild leader rather than rolling it off to someone.

With Sapphiron dead and about 45 minutes of raid time, we headed to Kel’Thuzad’s room and worked out our fight plan. Phase one is the most boring 2 minutes of raid time outside of waiting for late arrivals. Our tank got an unlucky void zone during our first attempt and our second attempt was botched with both tanks getting Ice Tomb from standing too close. Our Hunter suggested using PW:Shield on the tomb victims which made dealing with them 500x easier and we got the Lich down on our 5th attempt, clearing Naxx-10 completely in one weekend.

The +hit/+spellpower dagger dropped and with our new loot system it goes to whoever it is the biggest upgrade for. We have 2 Mages and me that wanted it so I asked around what everyones spell hit was. One was at hit cap, the other was 0.16 below hit cap and I was 1.3% below hit cap so I gave it to myself. Granted I had won the staff earlier but no one wanted it, I was still below cap but with my badge offhand I make hit cap with the dagger. I hate taking loot when I’m the one who has to divvy it out because I feel like I come off like a loot whore or I’m being biased but I honestly felt that I’d get more benefit since I needed the hit, one Mage didn’t and the other would have been 1% over. I hate loot systems >.>
