Night one saw us down Grobbulus for the first time but night two saw us down not one, two or three.. but 4 new bosses (three of them one shots)!
First up was Gluth. We had our Hunter working kite duty and he did an amazing job which made everyone elses job 100 times easier. DPS AoE’d the zombies during the Decimate phase and we made short work of him. The Warrior/Hunter shoulder token dropped and the Warrior (Oticus/Lennore) passed them over since the Hunter did such a good job.
Next up was Thaddius. The fight was explained to us over vent by someone who had done the fight before and it sounded confusing. I can’t recommend tankspot.com for raid videos enough. It’s not just a tank PoV – the guy (Ciderhelm) does an amazing job vocally narrating the video as you watch it so you can actually pay attention to whats going on besides reading someone elses typos over some shitty techno music. We all watched the Thaddius video, clearing up any confusion (Positive Left! Negative Right!) and one shotted him as well. Our newest Mage, Sassy, picked up her T7 pants and the Hunter picked up a new weapon.
After we cleared the Construct Quarter we decided to head to the Military wing, again watching the tankspot.com videos before the encounter, and one shotted Instructor Razuvious. He dropped some decent cloth shoulders with damage, haste and MP5 but they were more suited for a healer. I lost the off-spec roll to the Boomkin and we headed over to Gothik the Harvester.
This was the only fight of the night that gave us any trouble. We wiped twice trying to figure out the best tank to dps to healer balance for the Live/Dead rooms. The DK tank, a Holy Pally, myself and one of our Mages took the live side while the Boomkin, Resto Druid, Hunter, Prot Warrior and Holy Pally took the dead side on our 3rd attempt giving us our 4th progression boss of the night. I picked up a shmexysauce ring that I’ve had my eye on and I’m glad it dropped on the first downing.
Afterwards we only had 10 minutes left in the raid so we cleared to the 4 Horsemen, watched the tankspot.com video and got two of them down to 50% before losing a tank due to confusion. We only gave it one attempt as I like to leave on good notes hoping people will actually WANT to come back next week.
