For Vae Victus, anyway. Our MT should hit 80 sometime tonight and we need to recruit 1 more tank and 2 more healers. Yeesh!
After reading this World of Matticus post, I went against my better judgement and started posting in trade that our guild is recruiting. So far we haven’t gotten any bites but I keep telling myself that it’s still a bit early and a majority of players who aren’t already raiding aren’t 80 yet.
I’ve never been to keen on recruiting in trade but he’s right. It’s the largest vocal outlet for WoW players in-game. As long as you recruit maturely and don’t present yourself as a “we’ll take anyone!” guild, some people may take you seriously.
You know the types – the people who recruit and lure people in with “3 bank tabs” and “a sweet tabard!”. Yeah.. those people.
What I’ve been posting is – Vae Victus is recruiting for a 10-man Naxx team. We will be raiding Sat & Sun 5-8pm server. We currently need 1 tank & 2 healers but will consider all classes. PST for more information.
I’ve covered all of our bases by giving our guild name, stating exactly what content we’re recruiting for, our projected raid times and the classes that we need. I’ve tried to keep it mature to lure in mature players so we’ll see what happens over the course of the next week or so.

Outside of recruiting, I ran a few heroics over the weekend and picked up my first epic – a caster ring from Heroic Utgarde Keep – and also managed to upgrade my neck and gloves from blue drops. Heroic UK and Gundrak are both a lot of fun. Heroic Strat is pretty simple but trying to rush and get the timed event sometimes causes groups to lose their focus and wipe on stupid things, like trash..
I respecced Aubigore Retribution because my wife’s Mage is 58 now. I just want to blow through Outlands as fast as possible and I’ll be going back to Prot at 70 after 2 levels of questing in Northrend. I also sucked it up and picked up Skinning, getting it up to 225.
My JC is stuck at 440 but that is as high as I need it to be right now. It’s high enough to buy both of the epic patterns but I’m 2 tokens short.
I have mixed feelings about how we go about getting new patterns in WOTLK but I’m going to give that it’s own post later today.
Totally non-WoW related, I picked up some asian chicken for lunch today and the chef wrote on the top of my container “asian chix” so the cashier knows what to charge me. I don’t know why, but my juvenile mind thought having a box of asian chix was not only awesome but quite hilarious. While we’re on a non-WoW related topic, 5-hour energy shots taste like how your grandmothers perfume would smell but they do the trick.
