Hello, my name is..

Something that I never took in to consideration when I moved my blog from Blogger to WordPress was that I would eventually obtain new readers. I never actually introduced myself on this blog and I tried not to clutter my “about me” and “avatar” section. I tend to ramble on sometimes so you’ll have to excuse me ;) .

Some RL friends had been trying to talk my wife and I (who are avid gamers) in to picking up WoW in early 2006. I bought a new PC in April of that year and we finally broke down and picked up 2 copies of WoW shortly after.

Our friends played Horde on Silvermoon-US so thats where we started out. I started off as an Undead Mage, then jumped to a Troll Warrior. As a collective, we wanted to try out a PVP server so we re-rolled on Agamaggon but didn’t make it very far. Some of us didn’t enjoy the paranoia/ganking lifestyle of the PVP realm so we went back to Silvermoon.

I enjoyed my Orc Warlock on Agamaggon so when we restarted on Silvermoon I rolled an Undead Warlock named Abigore (the Warlock I play now – more on this later). Abigore was my first 60 as well as my first 70 when The Burning Crusade released. I did some pre-BC raiding with him as well as some Kara before taking a one-month hiatus to move IRL.

When I came back to the game, our guild was dwindling and a lot of our best players had left for raiding guilds. It was a bit depressing, to say the least. An in-game friend of ours had raided as an Alliance pre-BC and mentioned his old guild would let us in if we wanted to give it up and re-roll “over there”. We hesitated but I eventually re-rolled as a Human Warlock, intent on raiding as the class I enjoyed the most in WoW.

5 of us from the Horde side re-rolled and eventually hit 70 on our new toons. Someone that we had met along the way suggested we apply to a raiding guild he was apart of because they were recruiting for T5 raiding, even though we were slightly undergeared.

We worked on our gear and eventually got in to the guild but we got in at the wrong time. There was some inner-guild politics going on that caused some of the officers and their friends to /gquit and immediately our raiding progression was put to a halt for 2 months.

We spent the time farming Kara and recruiting before going back to T5 content. I stuck with them for about 6 months before ending my raid career due to work schedule conflicts.

In my spare time I leveled a Draenei Shaman and Night Elf Moonkin to 70 and began playing my Moonkin extensively in T4 raid content.

Around this time my wife was offered a raid spot in a T6 guild which caused some conflict with a few officers. Without pointing fingers and airing dirty laundry, we both /gquit – she went to the mentioned guild and I began raiding as a Moonkin in seperate guild.

I got to experience the back half of SSC, Kael’thas, Hyjal and BT as a Moonkin before leaving the guild due to their late night raid schedule. It was at this time that my wife’s guild fell apart and a few of them formed a new guild which I joined.

We primarily messed around farming heroics and Kara. I alternated between my Elemental Shaman and Moonkin in our raids before switching permanently to my Shaman as Enhancement in our ZA runs.

The guild because pretty serious about becoming a 10-man raiding guild in WOTLK but I think the guild leader got a little too serious for his own good. We needed a stable Mage so I stepped up and told him that I would put my other toons aside, level a Mage to 70 in record time and fill the spot.

Around this time, Blizzard started offering the triple XP bonus if you recruited someone to join. My wife recruited me over a fake email address, I opened a 3rd account and leveled a Draenei Mage to 70 within 9 days.

More favoritism and guild politics ruined it again but rather than /gquitting, we decided to try something new again and rerolled BACK to the Horde on Twisting Nether RP-PVP. Some of us wanted to go to a PVP server while some wanted RP so we went with both.

Those of us who had played together since the old Horde days paid to transfer our 70s from Silvermoon but none of us were happy there. We couldn’t wait for the 30 days to be up so we can transfer back.

My wife had played on Sisters of Elune so we went there instead. Using the triple XP bonus, we all wound up refering each other so the whole guild got triple XP. So far we’ve leveled a few 60s to catch up and have since transferred our Horde 70s over here. I enjoy the RP aspect of the game but it’s secondary to the PVE element.

I currently play a Demonology Warlock named Morthius, who used to be named Abigore but I was forced to rename him during the transfer. Why? My Shadowpriest on Sisters of Elune already had the name Abigore. GG me.

So there is the long boring story of my WoW-life. My primary focus is my Warlock and Shadowpriest but I also have a Restoration Shaman and Protection Paladin in the backburner and have experience with every caster in the game. I hope to be involved in 10-man raid progression as well as competitive arena in WOTLK with my Warlock or Shadowpriest.
