Improving Dispersion.

After toying around with Dispersion in PVE and PVP, I’m starting to enjoy it a little more. I’d like to see it more viable in PVP with a few changes though.

In PVP, I typically keep the cooldown available for 3 things - Being kited, being beaten on by melee or being stuck in the middle of some heavy AoE battles.

Hunters love to kite. Its part of their class mechanic to kite. Apparently with 3.0 they all like to tame huge dinosaurs as well =\. During the Dispersion effect, I try to get as close to them as possible but I’m still vulnerable to Concussion Shot and other snare mechanics. Lame.

Since all Rogues get Cloak of Shadows and we have to spec in to Dispersion, I’d like to see Dispersion remove all debuffs and make us immune to snare/root/cc mechanics. It’s only a 6 second spell and it’s on a 3 minute cooldown but look at the nature of the spell. We disperse in to pure shadow energy - It doesn’t make sense that we still have DoTs, bleeds, snares, etc.

IMHO, Dispersion is purely a defensive spell to close the gap between you and the enemy or to survive a beating long enough for whatever is beating on you to be killed by your DoTs or other players.

Going against classes that can kite you from a distance (i.e. Frost Mages or Hunters) can be tricky as it is, but Dispersion (combined with Fade from Improved Shadowform) makes it easier to close the gap. Silence sure as hell helps as well.

In PVE I have no complaints at all. I usually blow it every 3 minutes for mana regen and so far I’m satisfied with it all around.. but I’d really like to see the change for it’s PVP use.

It’s no secret that I opened a 3rd account with my wife so we could level alts 3 times faster on a new server before WOTLK.

Saturday night, I tried to give her Hunter some of the levels I had earned on my Shadowpriest (31 of them, to be exact) but it only allowed me to grant her 4 of them before graying out the option. I filed a ticket on Saturday and as of today it has yet to be returned. I hopped on my Paladin who is 49 but it only allowed me to grant her 2 levels before doing the same thing.

According to a post in the EU WoW forums, this is a known issue as the levels earned prior to patch 3.0 were wiped out. There is a blue response stating that all levels would be given back with last nights maintenance and as of the email I just received from the wife, it has. Wewt!

In addition to this, the Paid Character Transfer option has been closed since 3.0 and tomorrow is the day I can transfer Morhtius off of Twisting Nether. Hopefully it was fixed with this recent maintenance.. I could use a 70 for daily money and bags.

Still no Old Crafty on Abigore but I haven’t given up – I’ve taken a break. It’s not part of the Salty title requirement so I’ve opted to go back to fishing in Outlands to level it along-side my cooking. Leveling your Fishing with your Cooking at the same time is a godsend for anyone who hates farming and I plan on writing up a guide in the future (to cover 1-450).

I’m still in need of about 14 flimsy masks to complete the achievement for Abigore. I think this will be the make or break achievement for a lot of people after The Hallowed title.

Oh – Ding 63 =\. 7 more levels to go!
